The Medicine Buddha loves everyone! Everyone is happy, and Buddha rejoices!
On October 27, the sky was filled with auspicious clouds, exuding an aura of prosperity, as if the Medicine Buddha and heavenly deities had personally descended to joyfully witness a grand and auspicious event — “The 2024 Medicine Buddha Blessing Ceremony.”
Every year, on 30th day of the ninth lunar month, we celebrate the holy birthday of the compassionate and merciful Medicine Buddha of the Eastern Lapis Lazuli World, who grants relief from disasters and extends life.
The Medicine Buddha understands the desires of all beings and fulfills their wishes. Every vow he has made comes from a desire to meet the essential needs of sentient beings, focusing on their most important life needs.
At the beginning of the event, Teacher Lingshan, the CEO of the Bodhi Meditation Malaysia Service Center, led the honoured guests in presenting the beautiful offerings reverently to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. May the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas be pleased, and may all participants receive their blessings and grace.
With the sound of drums and gongs, an auspicious lion dance marked the start of the event as the honoured guests set off colorful confetti cannons to officially inaugurate the ceremony. Over 8,000 attendees arrived in the event hall, beaming with joy and happiness, receiving blessings of good fortune, health, and all the wonderful things life has to offer.
Upon entering the hall, guests were greeted by the majestic statues of the “Three Holy Ones of the Eastern World” and six “Longevity Pillars of the Eastern Lapis Lazuli World.” The scene was solemn and auspicious, radiating a sense of peace. Guests worshipped sincerely to the Medicine Buddha, offering incense and fresh flowers. The fragrant incense filled the air, carrying people’s wishes as they prayed for the Medicine Buddha’s blessings to fulfill their wishes, dispel disasters, extend life, and grant wisdom and enlightenment.
The various highlights attracted bustling crowds and creating a lively atmosphere. Activities ranged from “Hand Washing Ritual,” “Blessings from the Immortals,” and “Purification Garment Blessing,” to stepping on the “Golden Path” for prosperity and good fortune, sutra copying and coloring, energy blessings, enquiry for life guidance, purchasing of the auspicious blessed items, light offering, and also a “Wish Zone” where guests could make heartfelt wishes. Each attraction welcomed waves of attendees, filling the event with joy and excitement!

As the Medicine Buddha’s birthday approached, thousands of guests participated in the circumambulation, chanting in praise of the compassionate Medicine Buddha. They prayed for blessings and dedicated their merits to all sentient beings, cultivating vast good fortune.
In addition, the much anticipated “Fairy Fantasyland Costume Competition” showcased the winners for both the Junior and Open categories, awarding champions, runners-up, and third-place winners, adding plenty of joy and color to the event!
The Bodhi Meditation Charity Foundation-Malaysia also took the opportunity to hold a meaningful event — a cheque presentation ceremony, allocated RM40,000 to donate “All-In-One Smart Solution equipment ” to SJKC Yuk Chyun Primary School. This contribution aims to help the school improve the quality of teaching and learning effectively, benefiting numerous students. Additionally, the attending students received an abundance of gifts, their faces beaming with happiness and satisfaction, filling the entire venue with a joyful atmosphere!
The 2024 Medicine Buddha Blessing Ceremony, a grand event combining “tradition” and “modernity,” gathered all guests, sponsors, stall vendors, and every dedicated volunteer and staff member. Through their wholehearted efforts, this exceptional ceremony came to a beautiful conclusion!
